Spring Cleaning for Your Skincare

Make Sure Your Skin is Ready for Warm Weather!

Different seasons call for different skincare products. So now is the time to go through your skincare collection and make sure that you are ready to welcome spring back. Here’s our list of tips to make sure that you are using the proper products for this season.

FACIAL
The perfect time to get a facial is the start of every season. When we look at our skin daily we don’t notice every little wear and tear, but an aesthetician will detect all your skin’s issues – big and small. They will ensure your skin is as healthy as possible for the spring season.

EXFOLIATE
Winter might have left your skin dull and dry. Spring is the perfect time to rejuvenate that. Start off by gently exfoliating your face two to three times per week.

STAY HYDRATED
Simple rule – if you are dehydrated on the inside then your skin will suffer too. Don’t forget the basics, such as drinking enough water and electrolytes.

MOISTURIZER
During the winter, you probably were coating your skin with a heavy moisturizer to keep it soft and dewy. However, in the Spring time you should switch out that moisturizer for a lighter one such as our Moisture Complete with SRC-7 to ensure the perfect combination of hydration and moisture.

LOVE SPF
We all know how important it is to wear sunscreen every day but as the months become warmer – you have to make sure you up that SPF protection. Make sure you choose a sunscreen that protects from UVA and UVB rays. Tip: Buy a sunscreen that has a broad-spectrum coverage.

Since pores will be more open in the hot weather and will therefore absorb more product, you need to ensure that you’re putting new, healthy products on your face. So, toss the following:

    • Anything past the expiration date
    • Products that appear dry or crusty
    • Anything that has changed consistency, color, or smell
    • Anything with an SPF older than one year (SPF loses its effectiveness over time and it’s just not worth the risk.)
    • Mascara older than three months. (Always toss it after three months, regardless of how much there is remaining.)
    • Old, dirty make-up brushes and sponges

Remember that as seasons change so does our skin and the products we put on it. Enjoy this season and don’t neglect your spring skincare cleaning!
