Skincare Traveling Tips

How to Maintain Your Complexion in Transit

It is the constant quandary for travelers: How will you keep your skin healthy when you are away from home? Due to the major restrictions that airlines may have pertaining liquids, it is even harder to keep up appearances. But, everything is possible and your skin and appearance must not be ignored, especially while traveling. Here are 10 tips to keep your skin fresh and maintain your beauty routine while traveling. The first three are tips that you should do before you travel. While the last seven are tips you can do while traveling.

1. Research your airline.

Whichever airline you may be flying, go on their website and do a little research. Most airlines will clearly state what they allow and do not allow on flights. Doing proper research will help you pack before your travels so that you don’t have to throw products away. The general rule for liquids and gels on airplanes is that they need to be less than 3 ounces or 100 ml.

2. Buy travel-sized toiletries.

Most of your favorite brands (including ours) make travel or sample sized products that are safe for traveling. If your favorite product does not come in travel size, you can purchase travel-sized bottles in your local pharmacy and take only the travel-safe amount while leaving the rest at home.

3. Pack only what you need.

It’s extremely hard to limit the items you pack, but definitely easier when it comes to beauty products. Think twice about putting that facemask in your luggage. You probably don’t need it as much as you think you do! Pack things that can do double the work, like foundation that contains SPF. The important thing here is that you pack what you need – everyday products. Make sure you bring your treatment product, because that is always the most important product in a regimen! Now that you are packed and ready to go, here are the rest of the tips on how to stay beautiful and fresh while traveling

4. Moisturize.

Apply an intense amount of moisturizer the night before the flight. Doing so will help your skin stay hydrated.

5. Blot out oily skin.

If you have oily skin and it is gets out of control, blotting it will help. If you did not pack blotting papers that is okay, don’t stress! Look for a Starbucks, and use their napkins. Something about those napkins make them great blotting papers. Dab the “T zone” as often as needed. You will get rid of some of the shine and excess oil – which will help you arrive with a fresh face.

6. Apply lip treatment.

Protect those lips during your trip! Our lips are sensitive to climate change – especially if you are going to a place where the weather is completely different than that of your norm. Carry a lip treatment! A medicated lip balm will keep your lips hydrated while flying.

7. Puffy Eyes.

Some flights are longer than others, and at times that can be a drag. After the fifth hour, you might look exhausted and that can show in your eyes. An easy trick to reduce under-eye puffiness after a long trip contains crushed ice and a washcloth. Take the crushed ice and put it in a washcloth and apply it under the eyes. This will automatically be a wake-up call for those eyes and you will feel refreshed. For situations like this, bring a potent eye cream with you like our Cell Revive Eye Serum Complete.

8. Leave the mascara.

Avoid wearing mascara while in transit. It is not essential for those lashes. Keep them bare. Sleep peacefully without having to worry about rubbing mascara bits on your face.

9. Don’t touch your face.

It’s hard, but try not to touch your face. There are many unknown bacteria that might be lingering around in high-traffic places like airports and trains that can cause you to break out.

10. Enjoy.

Whether it is a business or personal trip – take the time to just relax and enjoy. Your body and face will thank you. Source: allwomenstalk.com, webmd.com, carefair.com
