Authentic Beauty Inspiration

What is Authentic Beauty?

Authentic beauty has always been a tenant of the Stemology brand. After all, our blog is named the “Authentic Beauty Blog”! And this got us thinking – What are the deeper characteristics of authentic beauty? What does it really mean to people? And how do you define it? So, we do what we always do when we have a question, we do our research and consult our experts. And what we heard is truly inspirational! “As a young girl in middle school, where looks started becoming an issue, my mom often reminded me that a pretty face is nothing if you have an ugly attitude. Values such as compassion, grace, humility and laughter are far more important than just looks. Because of her reminder, I believe that when we mix all the gifts that God has graced us with, they make up on amazingly beautiful woman – and that’s you! Authentic beauty is God-given. We don’t need to try hard to be beautiful. We are all beautiful in our own way and when we fully embrace that concept, we start to attract others to explore their beautiful souls too.” – Jessika-Lyn Garcia, The Free Woman “I finally realized that beauty wasn’t something I could acquire or consume, it was just something I had to be. What my mother meant when she said, ‘you can’t eat beauty,’ was that you can’t rely on how you look to sustain you. What actually sustains us, what is fundamentally beautiful is compassion – for yourself and for those around you. That kind of beauty enflames the heart and enchants the soul.” - Lupita Nyong’o, Actress “Girls today are compromising their uniqueness, their authenticity, to conform and look like everybody else, because they truly believe if they just looked like this or that, then they would be fulfilled and happy. beign authentic is what sets you apart, and ladies, let me tell you, it is so incredibly freeing to embrace the authentic beauty that makes you, you! We are all created and designed to be different, not one of us are the same, so why do we do everything in our power to transform ourselves into the women on popular mainstream media? No one is perfect; we all have things we don’t like about ourselves. SO let’s renew our view of beauty, because the truth is it’s our heart that defines our beauty, our authentic, beautiful hearts.” - Lisa Thompson, Self Love Beauty “By combining self-care, personal fulfillment, and a style of our own, we become authentically beautiful. First, exquisite self-care creates constant pleasure in all a woman is and does – no matter what she looks like. It requires simple daily habits of cleanliness, proper nourishment, rest and invigorating exercise. The well being of a woman’s relationships also has a direct impact on how she experiences her beauty; mutual self-care is key. With the foundation of physical wellbeing and healthy relationships, a woman sustains her authentic beauty through personal fulfillment. When she is both patient and compassionate with herself, she can help dissolve the pressures and illusions surrounding a woman’s beauty, and thrive in her own style.” – Alana Helapitage, A Shared Path “The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mode, but the true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows. The beauty of a woman grows with the passing years.” – Audrey Hepburn, Actress How do you define Authentic Beauty?
